For the first time, I present Mode Noir | Black Mode (CIAA Fashion Week) during the annual CIAA tournament February 29 - March 2nd, 2012. Mode Noir
is a high end fashion production that will showcase local boutiques,
emerging designers, and national designers. It is intended to highlight
African-American designers as well as raise awareness and funds towards
the Presbyterian Hospital Blume Center which cares for and treats
children with Sickle Cell Disease.
The
CIAA tournament is a huge, week long event that takes place yearly in
Charlotte, NC. It draws approximately 175,000 people to the city and
generates millions in revenue during the week long tournament. Each
year, national publications and radio shows (including the Steve Harvey
show, Yolonda Adams, and several others) broadcast remotely in support
of the CIAA.
In
the year 2012, Mode Noir (CIAA Fashion Week) will make an imprint on
this transplant community by showcasing some of the HAUTEST fashions and
embracing our motto of : ARTS - FASHION - CULTURE
